The Mountain Course, nestled at the base of the picturesque Santa Rosa Mountains, is famed for its Pete Dye design, playability, and stunning visuals. This ultra-challenging course features pot bunkers, rock formations, elevations of tee boxes, and well-bunkered greens. Their company, Landmark Land Co., purchased the La Quinta Resort in 1977 for development. They opened the Pete Dye Mountain and Pete Dye Dunes Golf Courses in 1980 next to the Resort. By 1987, the private Pete Dye Citrus Course had opened.
