Mission Hills Haikou (Meadow Links)

The Meadow Links Course at Mission Hills Haikou is part of the enormous and extraordinary Mission Hills complex in China which spans 22 golf courses across two locations - Shenzhen in southern China and Haikou on the tropical Hainan Island - making it the largest golf facility in the world, as recognized by the Guinness World Records.

Based upon the traditional US Open courses of the eastern United States, the Brian Curley-designed Meadow Links layout features lay-of-the-land sensibilities and somewhat geometric shapes in both bunkering and fairway lines. Distinctive features such as the fabled “Church Pew” bunkers make for a unique look where grass-faced bunkers and native grasses give the course an open meadow feel with occasional clusters of trees. Large greens create difficult putting opportunities.
