Bali National Golf Club offers visitors a truly luxurious golfing experience on the renovated golf club that has three distinct playing environments throughout the 18-hole course. The Hawaiian-styled golf course is only a short 20 minute drive through Bali Mandala toll road from Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport. Bali National is located in the Nusa Dua tourism complex. The course also sits alongside three miles of white sand beaches.

The Bali golf course was redesigned in 2013 by the superb Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright. Nelson incorporated Asian culture into the redesign, with hand-laid local stone walls built alongside the fairways and tee boxes. The wall arrangements almost give the perception of being in a typical rice field terrace that fill the majority of the countryside in Indonesia. Holes 1 to 9 feature creeks, canyons, and native vegetation filled with tropical birds, whilst holes 10 to 16 offer the golfer lush, gently sculptured fairways through a mature grove. Finally, Bali National Golf Club’s island green hole 17 and lakeside hole 18 are the finishing holes that challenge every golfer. Spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and the Nusa Dua area treat each player during their round.

The course was awarded ‘Best Renovated Golf Course in Asia 2014,’ ‘3rd Best Renovated Golf Course Worldwide 2015,’ ‘5th Best Golf Resort in Asia Pacific,’ and ‘Best Golf Resort in Indonesia 2017’ by Golf Digest USA.

Great layout. Interesting to play. Greens good but not as nice as you would hope for the price. Caddies fantastic. A lot of fun to play with and very knowledgeable.

Course was overall in good condition but greens could have been better. Club hire was very poor, the driver was a 12 year old Ping. If they’d thrown the clubs in with the very expensive round of golf then you wouldn’t complain. Caddies were great as you would expect and again due to the cost of the round you’d expect to get free water and there be plenty of it. We got one 500ml and they had to send back to the pro shop to get more which we had to pay for. Lastly two holes were under construction which I feel we should have been made aware of before we booked the round. They have us 30 balls on the range free which would have cost £2.50, not good enough. They did let me know about the construction work but only 24 hours before our tee off which was too late to cancel the round and get a refund. Lastly not mentioning of the major construction works at the clubhouse because booking. I’ve played here before and enjoyed their excellent facilities, this time we just left and didn’t spend anything. Sad really it could have been a really excellent experience but at £150 a round with a shared cart then caddie tips on top we expected more.
