Slow play, tee boxes and some fairways need improvement, course is over priced

The course was in good shape and the pace of play was perfect. However, the person who checked us in and the staff in general was pretty disinterested in us. The bag personal was on his cell phone as he unloaded our bags, and did not give us any directions as to range, clubhouse, etc. As first time golfers at the club, it was not a positive first impression.

I paid $112 per person as on line there are web site companies whose url is almost exactly the same as the course so beware. It’s some $14/person (thru these 2nd party look alikes) more expensive and not worth it even at $99/person if you weren’t misled and called the pro shop directly which I did for three days and got an answering service. That in itself sucks and should have been a red flag. My bad!!! Maintenance on the driving range and most of the fairways is at best not very good. Greens are nice and back nine in better shape than the front. Bag boys were miserable and not very welcoming. Dusty cart paths left you gasping for air in many places. My suggestion is pay more per player and enjoy nicer golf. This place, in my 40 years of golf and living in PINEHURST, is worth about $60-70 maximum. Sorry, it a good experience at any level. Getting an answering service at a pro shop during business hours is really shabby. I blame myself for this crappy decision.

Pace of play was intolerable with no effort to monitor or marshal said issues. Many groups behind us quit without finishing.

Friendly staff, has 9 hole rate & nice layout. Practice range could be improved as well as signage on a few holes (my first time playing the course) I will be back.

The course and facilities seemed "tired" and not maintained at a high level. The few encounters that we had with staff were somewhat cold and terse. Yardage markings were sparse given that there is no GPS service.
