Murcar Links is an attractive 18 hole course situated on the coast of Aberdeenshire, 10 minutes from Aberdeen city centre with superb views across the North Sea. Established in 1909 to the design of Archie Simpson, with later refinements made in the 1930′s by the celebrated golf course designer James Braid, it has also undergone alterations and improvements that are sympathetic to what Simpson and Braid set out to achieve, under the watchful eye of Graeme J Webster’s Team Niblick Ltd.
A European Tour venue, having hosted the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play in 2015. In June 2018 Murcar Links hosted The R&A 123rd Amateur Championship qualifying rounds. Murcar Links has risen to No 96 in the Golf Monthly Top 100 courses and 47th in Scotland’s Top 100 courses 2019 by National Club Golfer. The judging panel highlighted ‘some great holes, scenically and strategically’, whilst the overall verdict was ‘enjoyable whether in the dune valleys or near the sea’. The course, originally designed by Archie Simpson and revised by James Braid, it is located on a classic stretch of links land with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, and is covered in whins and heather with some magnificent views across the North Sea. Playing Murcar Links is a truly memorable and rewarding experience where each hole offers its own challenge. We hope you will enjoy the experience and treasure the memory.
