Nestled in the Hurricane Valley, acres of desert used for farming generations ago have been transformed into a new resort community featuring 18 holes of championship golf. Copper Rock Golf Course opened to the public in February 2020. The adventurous 7,227-yard layout forges across dunes dotted with native sagebrush against a backdrop of rustic sandstone formations.

The course was designed by a team organized under Gordon Zitting and the Copper Rock Golf Course, LC. Zitting and his family have spent decades in the Hurricane Valley working to bring this project to fruition – and it shows. On every hole, players are treated to sweeping vistas of the grandeur offered by the Pine Valley Mountains, the Hurricane Cliffs, Zion National Park and beyond.

The golf course was fantastic! Played beyond expectations and it was in incredible shape. The only two things to take this course to the next level would be an expanded clubhouse -and restaurant/bar and that clubhouse being more closely located to hole 1 and hole 9/18. The drive past 11/10 to the range and 1st tee is weird and interferes with golf happening on those holes. The clubhouse / pro shop and restaurant / bar is the smallest I’ve ever seen for a course of this kind quality. Would like to see a more upscale dining option and a larger bar area to relax in after a nearly $300 round.

Was never informed on website or when I called that it was cart path only. Supposedly to keep fairways nice for an Epsom series event. It was still $460 for two of us though!! Not worth the money. Finish the infrastructure first before charging top dollar.

Finding out the week before that it was cart path only for an event that they were aware was taking place since last May. I should have been told when I booked it. No formal clubhouse or restaurant. No GPS on carts. For $225 I expect that. Plus it helps to know where the group in front of you is on blind shots.

The Copper Rock course conditions were phenomenal, beautiful fairways and difficult greens that rolled true. I did not give the course a 10 because I was later getting to the practice area than I would have liked due to a shortage of carts, and there was no way for me to get to the range or practice putting green without a cart. Otherwise the course is great and is in beautiful condition. Thanks for a good day out!
