The GKG Golf Club was established in 1994 and has evolved since to a championship standard course, hosting the 2014 Icelandic championship. GKG is a 27 hole resort just 10 minutes from the Reykjavík city center and is easily accessible. The Leirdalur course is an 18 hole championship course played as a 6,000 meters long, par 71 and is a great test for all level of golfers.

GKG Golf Club was designed by the Swede Jan Sederholm, and redesigned when GKG extended the course to 27 holes. Himmerland Golf Club in Denmark, played on the European Tour 2014-2015, is among courses that Jan Sederholm has designed.

The routing of the course was a bit confusing as there is also a 9 hole tack woven into the 18. Condition of the course was ok; drainage seems to be an issue
